Footpath is an excellent little tool for mapping you walking routes. I started a subscription a couple of years ago and find it an easy to use tool at a very affordable price. With their most recent upgrade provides some great tools, making a good product event better.

Create 3D flyover videos with personalized stats and animated waypoints, turn your routes into stickers for Instagram Stories, or share animated maps to show off your latest outings. We’ve also redesigned the share screen with a new QR code feature, making it easy for friends, run clubs, and hiking groups to scan and open your routes directly in Footpath.

The uploaded video is from a short neighborhood walk I took last year and recorded while walking. I created the 3D flyover using the new tool. This is really a GREAT product at a very reasonal cost for an annual subscription.

Simple prompt borrowed from another user: pencil drawing and wet watercolor wash of family picking out a live christmas tree to cut down –profile rpyw3c8 –v 8.2

So I did a “thing” this morning that I’m quite proud of and pleased with. I used ChatGPT to create an extension for Chrome to help me search multiple sites for books. My initial prompt was very basic and general: “i want to build a chrome extension that searches selectable book store websites for books by book title, author, or a combination of both”. After a few questions and clarifications ChatGPT produced a downloadable zip file and instructions for installing the extension on my Chrome browser. I followed the instructions and it worled like a charm.

Features

• Opens searches at selected bookstores in individual background tabs.
• Catalog preview via Open Library’s public search endpoint (no API key required). Results are bibliographic records, not live store inventory, prices, or guaranteed exact editions.
• Each preview match can be searched at selected bookstores.
• Stores can be added/removed and selections are saved locally.
• Highlight text on a web page and right-click Search BookFinder to populate the search popup (fallback to a new extension tab if popup opening is unavailable).

This is probably elementry stuff for most people but I’m not very adept at all these new technology tools and coding. So I’m quite pleased with myself and the result.

I borrowed the prompt from a Facebook group and tweaked it slighlty. Ironically, I’m reading a book about hockey right now but it is about a team in a small Norweigan town.

Prompt: Outdoor Canadian winter ice hockey rink, slightly elevated diagonal view. Smooth glossy pale blue white ice with skate marks and subtle reflections. Rink enclosed by hockey boards and railings with rounded corners, one regulation goal. Four adult players full body, medium distance, naturally spaced, actively skating and competing for the puck. Blue and white hockey jerseys with large maple leaf chest emblem. Rink and players equally prominent in composition. Contemporary large scale public mural illustration: colorful stylized graphic semi realism, painterly shapes, clean contours, simplified forms, expressive shading. Rich blues, turquoise, white, Canadian red, warm orange and golden accents. Colorful yet sophisticated, clearly illustrated not photographic. –no close-up, giant players, tiny players, artificial floor, blue floor, water, plastic surface, basketball court, photorealism, photography, hyperrealism, 3D render

I was thinking about YCG and created this simple prompt for this image: photo of rack of canoes at a summer camp –v 8.2

Below is a modified prompt I used from a MidJourney challenge posted in one of the many AI Facebook groups I follow:

Prompt: 2-Character relationship sheet of a lively grandmother and her mischievous granddaughter in 18th-century Istanbul, two clearly distinct but visually related characters, shown through six natural interactions, cooking together, arguing playfully over a household object, walking through a market, sharing food, fixing a piece of clothing and laughing together, varied body language and changing physical distance, affectionate everyday relationship, authentic Ottoman clothing and surroundings, expressive faces, charming humor, historically grounded details, cinematic character storytelling, clean relationship reference sheet, 16:9 –ar 16:9 –stylize 250 –hd –profile xcqy5ig –profile r8rn9lw

It seems that this could be a really useful tool for a creator or author developing a story line. I can imagine a multitude of possible uses extended to wide variety of creative uses.

Prompt: a vast field with trees and many large cows, morning fog covers the ground, peace and quiet, gentle watercolor –chaos 20 –stylize 150 –hd –profile 5stjwop

Well this is getting to be a habit…forgetting to post my Midjourney image on Monday. I’m going to have to create a reminder so I can stay on track. I don’t recall where I originally got the prompt for this post from, but it was fun to play with.

Prompt: What if we all got along, Magazine cover art in the style of Norman Rockwell, a small town street where everyone is smiling except for one, old, grumpy curmudgeon, crisp details throughout –ar 4:5 –raw

Well my Midjourney Monday post is a little late this week. Today is Wednesday and I just realized that hadn’t made the post on Monday. I guess I’m going to have to create a posting calendar with reminders.
