  • Watched: Crime 101 (Amazon Prime)

Just finished watching Crime 101 on Amazon. In Los Angeles, meticulous jewel thief Mike (Chris Hemsworth) executes non-violent heists along the 101 freeway. Shaken by a close call, he targets one final big score while obsessive detective Lou (Mark Ruffalo) closes in and volatile rival Ormon (Barry Keoghan) threatens chaos, drawing in insurance broker Sharon (Halle Berry).

  • Watched: Gone (BritBox)

Gone subverts the standard missing-person trope into a razor-sharp, character-driven psychological study. David Morrissey delivers a chillingly unreadable performance, matched by Eve Myles’ relentless detective work. It’s a beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, slow-burn mystery that prioritizes emotional tension over cheap thrills.

  • Trend - The Return of the Pen Pal

I saw an interesting segment on the Today Show on Saturday morning. The segment was highlighting the growing interest people have in receiving items through the postal system. I’m of the age where I can easily remember the excitement of the mail arriving at your home each day and running to the mailbox to see if anything was for you. I’m glad to see a renewed interest in our connections this way.

  • A New Reading List?

I think I’ve read almost all of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s books, but I don’t believe I’ve ever read any of the the books he recommended on this list. Maybe this is a new reading challenge for me. The 22 Books F. Scott Fitzgerald Called “Required Reading”

During one of the hardest summers of his life, the ‘Great Gatsby’ novelist penned a list of book recommendations for his nurse.
